Privacy Policy

This policy is written to comply with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013. If you are a data subject in South Africa, the rights and processes described below apply to you.
1. Who we are (the Responsible Party)
"Prime Betting Club" ("we", "us", "PBC") is the responsible party for any personal information collected through this website (primebettingclub.com) and our WhatsApp Channel.

Our designated Information Officer can be contacted at privacy@primebettingclub.com for any matter relating to personal information, including data subject access requests, corrections, complaints, or queries about this policy.

3. What personal information we collect
- Voluntarily submitted — name and email if you contact us, message content if you reach out via email.
- WhatsApp Channel — if you follow our Channel, WhatsApp shows your phone number / display name to channel admins per Meta's design. We do not export or store this beyond Meta's own platform.
- Anonymous analytics — if enabled, privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Plausible.io, no cookies, no cross-site tracking) record aggregate page-view data: page URL, referrer, country (city-level not stored), device type. No IP addresses are retained.
- Affiliate referrals — when you click a bookmaker partner link, that partner sets their own cookies for sign-up attribution. We do not see your personal data on the partner platform beyond aggregate commission reports.
4. Lawful basis & purpose (POPIA s.11)
We process personal information on the basis of:
- Consent — you voluntarily joined the WhatsApp Channel or emailed us.
- Legitimate interest — serving the site, security, fraud prevention, aggregated analytics to improve content.
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making, profiling, or direct marketing without separate opt-in.
5. Your rights as a data subject (POPIA s.23-25)
You have the right to:
- Confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold (free of charge for the first request per year);
- Correct or update inaccurate information;
- Request deletion or destruction of your personal information;
- Object to processing on reasonable grounds;
- Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect lawfulness of prior processing);
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@primebettingclub.com. We will respond within 30 calendar days as required by POPIA. We may ask you to verify your identity to prevent unauthorised disclosure.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose collected, or as required by law:
- Email contact records: 24 months from last interaction, then deleted.
- Analytics aggregates: rolling 12 months.
- Affiliate commission records: as required by tax law (typically 5 years).
7. Cross-border transfers
Some of our service providers (e.g. WhatsApp/Meta, hosting infrastructure, analytics) may process data outside South Africa. We rely on those providers' published compliance with applicable safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, equivalent legal frameworks). By using this service, you consent to such transfers.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information: HTTPS-only delivery, restricted internal access, encrypted credentials, periodic review of access logs. No system is perfectly secure — if a notifiable breach occurs, we will inform you and the Information Regulator within 72 hours per POPIA s.22.
9. Cookies & analytics
This site uses minimal cookies. Essential cookies (page state, preferences) require no consent. Optional analytics (if enabled) is privacy-respecting and does not set tracking cookies. Affiliate partner sites you click through to may set their own cookies — those are governed by their privacy policies.
10. Affiliate tracking
We earn a commission if you sign up with a partner bookmaker via our links. This commission does not change the recommendations we make or how we rank partners. We disclose this on each affiliate page.
11. WhatsApp Channel specifics
WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted by Meta. Channel followers see broadcast content from PBC only — you do not see other followers' details. Channel admins (us) see aggregate follower counts but do not have access to individual follower contact lists unless you message us directly. WhatsApp's own policy applies in addition: whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy.
12. Children (POPIA s.34)
This service is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect or process personal information of minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact our Information Officer immediately and we will delete it.
13. Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the home page and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
14. Complaints process
Step 1 — contact our Information Officer (privacy@primebettingclub.com) describing your concern. We will respond within 30 days.
Step 2 — if unsatisfied, lodge a formal complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (details in section 2 above).
